Jordon invites clients to contact him if they want assistance on almost any aspect of family law. Jordon can provide advice with respect to division of matrimonial property, unjust enrichment claims, spousal or partner support, child support, parenting, guardianship and custody, mobility applications, and cohabitation, prenuptial, marriage, or separation agreements. He can assist with all the research, drafting, paperwork, court appearances, and attendance at mediation or arbitration that those involve.
Jordon understands that family law issues can feel overwhelming and require outside help. However, he also knows that many going through these issues are financially stressed. Consequently, in addition to the full scope of service outlined above, Jordon can offer clients limited scope services including anything from just a consult, providing advice and assistance with drafting documents, negotiations, or research in the background, to attending court or mediation/arbitration for smaller issues.
Jordon has trained in conducting mediation through the Legal Education Society of Alberta and has completed the National Family Law Arbitration Course. Since 2022, Jordon has been providing mediation and arbitration services at lower rate than his standard rate when acting as counsel. Jordon welcomes families and counsel to reach out to him to schedule mediation and/or arbitration.
Jordon worked as a summer student at Moe Hannah LLP in 2014 and 2015 before joining as an articling student in June of 2016. As of July 19, 2017, Jordon is now a lawyer with the firm. Jordon developed an interest in family law in his first summer, and now practices exclusively in the area. He enjoys working with clients, other parties, and opposing counsel to develop a mutually beneficial arrangement in a cost-effective manner. Jordon believes that family conflicts are best solved by cooperative, collaborative, and non-adversarial means. Having said that, Jordon is comfortable litigating and regularly appears in the Court of King’s Bench and the Provincial Court of Alberta on contested matters.
Jordon received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in 2012 where he majored in political science, and minored in economics. While there, Jordon became the chair of the Philanthropy Committee of the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta where he raised thousands of dollars for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Next Generation Nepal, Friends in Motion, and the Campus Food Bank. He then attended law school at the University of Manitoba, where he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree in 2016. During law school Jordon volunteered with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association through Pro Bono Students Canada, was a volunteer editor at the Manitoba Law Journal, and ran the Robson Hall Curling League. Jordon also attended Hebrew University in Jerusalem on exchange in 2015, and L’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 2012 as part of the J’Explore program.
Jordon is an honourary Newfoundlander, being so named by the Royal Order of Newfoundland Screechers. He is a poor golfer and an average skier. Jordon enjoys fly fishing, science fiction novels, playing blues guitar, and hockey.
