Moe Hannah LLP is a Calgary family law focused law firm. The firm is comprised of 11 lawyers and 7 support staff. Moe Hannah LLP has been providing outstanding legal services in this specialized area since 1997.

Minimum three years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Experience with PC Law time management and accounting software would be an asset.
Minimum three years’ office administration or management experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Excellent interpersonal skills and time management

Job Description:

The following sets out core duties, however, additional duties may be assigned by the Partnership from time to time for the smooth functioning and administration of the firm.

This role does not include a significant Human Resource role with the following limited exceptions:

Formal delegation of tasks to staff, supervision of staff and hiring or termination of staff (with the foregoing specific exceptions) do not form part of this role and remain the responsibility of the Partnership.

Work Schedule:

Compressed work week: Monday to Thursday each week – 8 hours (with a paid 30 minutes of that for a lunch break each day) Friday each week-  4 hours with no scheduled break for a total 36-hour work week. Occasional overtime may be necessary at month or year end.

Reporting Structure:

Your primary reporting would be to the managing partner and from time to time the partnership as a whole. The managing partner may delegate tasks to committees comprised of other lawyers in the firm. In that case, you may work with the chair of those individual committees.


Salary range is $65,000 – $80,000
Annual reviews for the purposes of looking at performance and salary increases will be undertaken in September of each year.
Bonuses may be granted from time to time based on extraordinary contribution to the firm and Partnership at the sole discretion of the Partnership.

Paid time off:
Three weeks’ paid vacation per year -on January 1 of each year the three weeks re-set and are only available to be used in the forthcoming calendar year.
Our firm closes for all statutory holidays and Remembrance Day, National Truth and Reconciliation Day, Easter Monday, Calgary Stampede Parade Day and for the week between Christmas and New Year. These days of closure are also paid time off and do not form part of vacation allotment.

The firm enrolls staff in a Dejardin Group Benefits plan. This provides extended medical and dental insurance coverage as well as long term disability insurance, life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. The Partnership shall pay for 100% of the premiums with the exception of the long-term disability insurance premiums which shall be deducted from salary on a monthly basis.

Annual continuing education budget of $1,500 to spend on courses that complement this role.
