Brad Mustard

Brad is a trained family law lawyer, practices collaborative family law, and acts as a professional mediator.  He firmly believes that separation and divorce is not just a legal change but involves a personal transition affecting family, friends and children equally.  With these important consequences in mind, he sees the role of “lawyer” as one of advocate, legal expert, communication coach, as well as respectful guide supporting the client to make empowered decisions.  He provides advice to help clients solve problems quickly and effectively outside of court, and will represent clients in litigation where appropriate.  Brad has worked in a variety of litigation areas and has represented clients in all levels of court in Alberta.

Brad offers the following services:

  1. Initial consultation for those who want to resolve issues with or without legal intervention;
  2. Mediation for families wishing to use a neutral third party to resolve their family law issues;
  3. Collaborative law;
  4. Legal advice for those going through litigation or are looking for a second opinion; and
  5. Court representation.

Brad has worked as an associate teacher at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law and as an instructor for the Legal Education Society of Alberta.  He has served on several boards and organizations including past Chair of the Association of Collaborative Professionals Calgary and past Chair of the Distress Centre Calgary. Brad has also been appointed to act as a Dispute Resolution officer at the Calgary Courts Center.
